It is not certified for aviation, maritime, safety-critical, law-enforcement, or operational use. Do not rely on it for decisions that affect life, property, or legal matters.
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using WorldView (the "Site") at https://giuseppe84-code.github.io/Worldview-project/, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
2. Nature of the service
WorldView is a free, open-source, client-only situational-awareness dashboard built as a portfolio and technical-demonstration project. It aggregates public OSINT feeds on an interactive globe.
- It has no backend, no account system, no paid tier
- The source code is released under the MIT License
- It is provided on a best-effort basis with no uptime guarantee
3. OSINT data disclaimer
All data displayed by WorldView is retrieved from third-party public feeds listed in our Privacy Policy (section 5). This data is presented AS-IS, with:
- No warranty of accuracy
- No warranty of completeness
- No warranty of timeliness or freshness
- No warranty of fitness for any particular purpose
WorldView is NOT CERTIFIED and MUST NOT BE USED for:
- Aviation or maritime navigation
- Safety-of-life decision-making
- Search and rescue operations
- Law enforcement, military, or intelligence operations
- Financial trading or investment decisions
- Any situation in which incorrect, missing, or delayed data could cause physical, legal, or financial harm
Do not rely on WorldView for any decision that affects life, property, safety, or legal matters. If you need operationally certified data, use a certified commercial provider.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Violate the terms of service of any upstream data provider accessed through WorldView
- Scrape, redistribute, or mirror third-party feed data beyond personal, reasonable, human-paced use
- Circumvent rate limits or security measures of upstream providers
- Use the Site to stalk, harass, threaten, or cause harm to any individual
- Use the Site for unlawful surveillance of private persons
- Attempt to compromise the Site, its service worker, or the devices of other users
5. Your own API keys
Some features (e.g., live vessel tracking via aisstream.io) require an API key that you provide yourself. By entering a key, you confirm that:
- You obtained the key lawfully from the relevant provider
- You are responsible for complying with that provider's terms of service
- You understand the key is stored in your browser's
localStorageonly, never transmitted to us
6. Third-party services
WorldView connects your browser directly to third-party APIs. We have no control over these services, their availability, their accuracy, or their terms. Your use of their data is governed by their respective terms:
7. Intellectual property
The WorldView source code is released under the MIT License. You may fork, modify, and redistribute it under its terms. The data displayed on the Site remains the property of the respective upstream providers and is subject to their terms. The name "WorldView" as used in this project, together with the domain and branding, is not transferred by the MIT License.
8. No professional advice
Nothing presented on the Site constitutes legal, financial, security, military, maritime, aviation, medical, or safety advice. Consult a qualified professional for any decision of that nature.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the operator of WorldView be liable for:
- Any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages
- Loss of data, profits, revenue, business, or opportunity
- Damages arising from inaccurate, missing, or delayed data
- Service unavailability, interruption, or termination
- Acts or omissions of third-party data providers
Your sole and exclusive remedy for any dissatisfaction with the Site is to stop using it. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under Italian or EU consumer-protection law.
10. Indemnification
You agree to hold the operator of WorldView harmless from any claim, loss, or expense arising from your use of the Site in violation of these Terms or any applicable law.
11. Consulting engagements
The services described on our landing page (white-label builds, custom MVPs, maintenance retainers) are offered under a separate written consulting agreement negotiated per engagement. These Terms govern only your use of this public website and do not form a consulting contract.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Site evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes will be noted in the project repository. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Italy, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or from your use of the Site shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent Italian courts, except where mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence grant you a more favourable jurisdiction.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
